Okay. It's time to talk about music. So. Much. New. Shit!!!!!! It's been keeping me alive these past few days. I've been meaning to type up a post about music, but haven't had the right words these past few weeks. This will be a shorter version of what I imagined, which is okay!!!! Anyways, okay music. Man, over the summer music was the thing that kept me from falling into a deep hole, which sounds cheesy I know, but it kept me motivated and..not..sad..hahahaha. I didn't do much towards the end of summer, I would literally sit in my bed with my laptop doing NOTHING. And I'm not over-exaggerating. I started feeling terrible about it so y'know what my solution was? DANCING AROUND MY ROOM WITH OLD TAYLOR SWIFT. Hhahaha, no joke. Her albums back then were so...oooo..oooo.o.oooo.o...oooo....GOOODDD!!!! SO that definitely helped pick me up. That's when I realized happy music can make you happy!!! Or in general, music can make you happy. SO, here are a few new albums/songs/artists I've been listening to and really love!
GABRIELLE APLIN - LIGHT UP THE DARK
So she just released her second album and the first time I listened to it, I was like "meh...why does it sound like this, I loved her last album!!!!" BUT, then I gave it another try and man do I love it!!!!!! I frickin' love her and her music, I actually made a post about her like a year ago! Anyways, below is her music video for her song "Sweet Nothing" and she just looks so cute in it. If you love singer-songwriter stuff, she is perfect for yyyaaa!!!! Songs I love: Sweet Nothing, Skeleton, Letting You Go, and Heavy Heart
FIDLAR - TOO
Okay, but THIS ALBUM!!! THIS BAND!!! THEIR ENTIRE PERSONA!!!! I've talked about my recent love for garage rock, loud music before. This album is definitely different from their last, less about partying and drugs, more about being sober and hating..themself..hhahaa, but honestly. I am in love with FIDLAR and luckily, I am seeing them in October!!!!!!! I got tickets for my bfffffflllll's birthday and we're just so excited. We both haven't been to a crazy concert in too long of a time so we're ready to jump in the mosh pit and forget about liiiiiifffeee!!!! That's one of my favorite things about these bands' concerts, there is just so much going on, you're not paying attention to reality. Anyways, back to the album, so good. If you're into garage rock, listen to them...actually overall just listen to them, they're so so so great. I got their vinyl right when it came out, as I said in this post. I was so excited and it's so beautiful. I would share my favorite songs, but I already did in that post and it's basically the entire album, ahahaha. Here's their music video for "40oz. On Repeat", their single that made me think "Oh hell yes, this album is gonna be fuCKIN' AWESOME!!!!!"
JUSTIN BIEBER- WHAT DO U MEAN?
Hahhahhahahahahahahaha, I KNOW. Alright, look, when I was I don't know 13..14? I had a week, just one week, where I LOVED him, but then it went away. Then, my sister started playing his album, "Believe", when it came out and we jammed to that like every single day until we got tired of it. NOW, he comes out with this very catchy song and he looks beautiful (before he dyed his hair :/). SO, my friend and I are currently in love with him. AND I'M NOT SORRY. Here's his music video for his song...and I haven't watched it 28638917 times...lol.
SLOW HOLLOWS - ATELOPHOBIA
This is a small band from L.A. that I found through the festival I went to a couple weeks ago, Runaway!!!...HOLD UP...I just realized and looked through my blog for a good 30 minutes..I DIDN'T BLOG ABOUT RUNAWAY!?!?!? I don't know why..well anyways, it was a little one-day festival filled with cool, small bands, mostly from L.A.!!! It had such a cool vibe to it and I saw/discovered some awesome bands, including Slow Hollows!!! Their album is so soft and so so good. Personally, I can't listen to ONE of their songs, it has to be their entire album, and in order!!! It seems like it's just made that way, I don't know? The entire album is so chill and slow. My favorites are Nerves, All the Time, The Art School Kids, and just their whole album, really. Below is a video of them live at Way Strange Fest (so sad I couldn't go, I had already moved out) and they sound beautiful.
Annnndddd those have been my favorites recently!!! I could talk about more artists, but I think that's enough for now. Hopefully you guys will check these guys out or already listen to them. They're all so great and fun and I love every one of them. I don't care what people say, music takes you places and helps you forget and it's just a relief from reality. I hope you all are having fun in your lives and are happy and stuuufff!!! College is now pretty normal for me, there are a few things that annoy me, but I've been learning a lot! Hopefully a post about my new knowledge will come out soon, but yeah!!! Have a great week =^^=

"YOU" - Zaira

There are people who you know for the longest time, but never really...know. You see them around school and maybe follow their social medias, but don't talk much. Although, sometimes you think they are such cute, kind people and it's nice to know that there are people like that around!! Ugly people sometimes make you forget how awesome some are. That's Zaira. I don't know her much, but from what I have learned from this day is that she is such a sweet person with such a bright future ahead of her!!!! It's so cool to know she lives in the world and will bring kindness around.
One thing I asked her was how was high school for her. Everybody has a different experience whether good or bad. She said it was just all over the place, meeting new people, trying new things, etc. it definitely made me realize how different your life can be from freshman to senior year. Looking back I am a much more different person than I was four years ago, it's kind of crazy and I think that's everybody? Not only does your life change in those four years, but man do you have so much more to go through. Life is just so..SO full.
I brought up the thought of caring what others think about her and she answered with that she does care sometimes. She explained that sometimes curiosity just gets the best of her and she wishes what people were thinking right at that moment. It made me think that CARING and WONDERING what others' think about you are completely different! You can be curious about someone's thoughts, I mean isn't that everyone?! You can be strutting your stuff, but still think, "hm..what are YOU thinking?" Zaira wears and does whatever she wants, no matter what opinions are thrown at her. She is sometimes comfortable in her skin, but sometimes not. Everybody has those "ew" days. BUT, I like to think this day wasn't for her because she said this outfit made her feel good about herself!!!! When I asked if she was ever put down, she answered with that one of her friends called her a square once and all she thought was, "Why make that comment?" Sometimes people just say stupid things because they talk before they think. Oh and I would also like to add that her favorite trait about herself is that she doesn't lie. At all. Or else she'll just feel like crap. I really, really liked that she said that.
Random facts about Zaira:
  • one word to describe life: crazy
  • favorite band: sleeping at last
  • worst fear: just a really bad day that goes completely wrong
  • favorite person: boyfriend (been together for over 3 years..WOAH)
  • one thing you've always wanted to do: make out with Logan Lerman (me)
  • favorite movie/show: Indecent Proposal/Skins
  • number one goal: to be happy with who I am
  • favorite song: the famous Piña Colada song
And as always, I had to ask what she found most interesting that has been swinging the ropes in social media. She mentioned the fact that people just need to be careful in what they hear in social media and that's definitely true!! I've talked about it before, but I'll say it again: DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH!!!! It's so so so important, especially these days. OH, we also talked about hypocrisy and how everyone is one at some point in their life. She added that people become hypocrites when they view things from an outsider's view, instead of a personal view, which is so so so true!!!! I think that's how everyone becomes a hypocrite, they never think about it personally...
Zaira definitely brought back those thoughts I haven't had in a while since moving out and I very much thank her for that. I haven't been thinking about things I should be, but now it's definitely back! A piece of advice that has stuck with her is to not do anything that you will look back on, basically being regretful. It's super important to always be sure of your decisions and to never question them once you've decided.
Well, there ya have it!!! I finally am continuing on with this project. I have two more beautiful people left and very excited to share them with you all!!! Thank you to Zaira for being such a wonderful person and contributing to this, it means so so so so so much!!! Hope you all enjoyed learning about a person on this Earth and hopefully you learned or was reminded of something. =^^=

I've missed blogging so much, y'all. I think a big thing that's holding me back is not having a good camera, I don't know why. I think it's because my phone does not capture the beauty of everything and it's just missing that UMPHHH. Anyways, I hope you all are doing fantastic!!! Week three has begun and it's been so so so fun!! I've been getting along with my roommates, even becoming friends, I've been visiting places in SF, and been making new memories!!! It's awesome having good friends around to keep you from falling down in a pit called "HOMESICK". It's been trying to creep up on me, but I shall prevent it. I WILL WIIIN!!! Well, here's an accumulation of the past 2 weeks' adventures:
So, I'm really loving my school, it's actually so frickin' pretty!!! There's flowers everywhere, strawberries growing in front of where I live, trees, it's just awesome. When you're walking around, you don't have to see some ugly campus, so I'm super happy to be living here.
Also, we basically have our own venue here, where usually little bands play!!! It's called "The Depot" and it's so cool!!!! We saw Adult Books here (who are from my home, Orange County) and I recently found out they're touring with Tijuana Panthers (who I don't listen to, but have heard of them a lot) and The Garden (WHO I DO LISTEN TO!!!), what!?!?!?! Also Twin Peaks played here over the summer (so sad I wasn't here for that)!!!!! And if you're into him, G Eazy, too!!!! So, basically our school is super ~*~*~hip~*~*~**~
This is a lake across from us!!
Apparently, San Francisco has a name for the fog, 'Karl the Fog'. So, I guess here's a picture of him, ahhahaha. It was crazy, it was pretty hot before we got on the Muni (underground transit) and when we got off it (which was around 30 minutes), it was like we were in a different world..it was so cold and foggy!!!!
Last weekend my roommates, friends, and I went downtown to Chinatown and Union Square. Also, Julissa made a trip over, too!!!!! I was so happy she visited us, but was so sad when we had to say bye, I almost started crying again, but nope, I held it in.
This place looked cool because of the lights. It was a massage place, but pretty sure they do other things, too....hahahahha.
When we were on our way back, the Muni was so full!!! Very cozy, hahahah. It's so weird taking public transportation now. L.A. isn't based around that, but SF is and it's so much different!!! Very easy for us to get around though, thank god!
This Labor Day weekend we decided to take a trip to Haight, where Amoeba and the Golden Gate Park reside!!! The park was so frickin' beautiful!!!!! Although, if you ever visit, beware, there are MANY hippies, homeless people, and people just smoking weed on the streets, ahhaha. It's a pretty cool place though, there's lots of little stores (that we didn't visit sadly, but will soon) and it's just a very cool, different environment that you've gotta experience!!! The Golden Gate Park is sooooooo big, you guys. There's a butterfly sanctuary, museums, it's close to the beach, people playing instruments, etc., etc..I promise myself to spend a day there, just at the park.
We also got to pass by Castro, where the Pride Parade is held so there was rainbows everywhere and it was so cute!!! I definitely want to come back here too!!! Below is a picture of a cafe that's called Twin Peaks and I thought it was super cute. So many things called Twin Peaks!!! Hhhahaha
And here's the beautiful Amoeba. Although it was cool, nothing really beats the one in L.A. The reason I came here was to get FIDLAR'S new recorrrrddd!!!! It's so..SO good, guys. Definitely give it a listen (my favorites are West Coast, Stupid Decisions, Bad Habits, Sober, Drone, Leave Me Alone..basically the entire album hahaha)
Well, yeah!!! There's a 'my life' post!!! I am way behind on the "YOU" project, it's been tough because I need to really take time to make them and I haven't had much of that since moving. I will definitely finish the series soon, I think I have like three people left and I'm excited for you to read about them!!! Hoooopefully, my next post will be from "YOU". Hope you all are happy =^^=
